Who we are

Demca (demca.online) is a demurrage calculation product operated by Amalgama-FZCO (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data we collect when you use Demca and how we handle it.

For any privacy question, or to request a Data Processing Agreement, contact us at support@demca.online.

What we collect

Account data: your work email address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash), and the organisation name you register with.

Voyage data you upload: Statements of Facts, Notices of Readiness, charter parties, fixture recaps and related correspondence, plus the timesheets, clauses and calculation results derived from them.

Technical data: standard server logs and authentication session records needed to keep the service secure and running.

How we use it

To provide the service: extracting timesheets from your documents, running laytime and demurrage calculations, and producing exports.

To secure your account and your organisation's data.

We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and never use client documents or data to train AI models.

How your data is stored

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Source documents are kept in private storage with access granted per record.

Each organisation's data is isolated at the record level: members of one organisation cannot see another organisation's voyages.

Access to your data by our team is limited to what is strictly necessary to operate and support the service.

Data processors

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run Demca: cloud hosting, database and file storage, and AI document-processing services. Each processes data only on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality obligations.

A Data Processing Agreement is available on request — contact support@demca.online.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and organisation data at any time by writing to support@demca.online.

You can delete individual voyages and port calls, including their documents, directly in the product.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete data or close your account, it is removed from active systems; backups are purged on their regular cycle.

When you delete a voyage or port call, its documents, timesheet and results are deleted. We retain only technical metadata about it — error codes, counters, timestamps and the record of which timesheet fields were corrected during review — with no document or row text, to improve the quality of extraction and calculation.

Changes

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be announced to registered users by email.
